TNEA Round 1 Seat Allotment 2022: Confirmation Options

DTE TN has provided various confirmation options based on the preferences of the candidates, which are as follows:

1. Accept and Join

Candidates satisfied with the seat allotment shall select the ‘Accept and Join’ option, then download the provisional allotment letter and report at the allotted college for admission. If such candidates do not report to the allotted college within the specified dates, their seat will be cancelled and they will be ineligible for subsequent rounds.

2. Accept and Upward

Candidates wishing to retain their seat but wanting to go for higher options shall select the ‘Accept and Upward’ confirmation option. If a better choice is not allocated then the candidate is confirmed with the current allocation.

3. Decline and Upward

Candidates unsatisfied with their seats may decline the allotment and wait for higher choices by selecting this option. If such candidates are allotted their preferred higher allotment, they will be moved to the next round. However, such candidates will have no claim to the current allocation.

4. Decline and Move to the Next Round

If a candidate is not satisfied with the current allocation but does not wish for upward movement in this round shall select the ‘Decline and Move to Next Round’ option. Such candidates will be moved to the next round and, similarly as that of the above option, these candidates will have no claim to the current seat allocation.

5. Decline and Quit

Candidates who are not satisfied with the allocation and do not wish to participate in any round of counselling shall select the ‘Decline and Quit’ option. Such candidates will be excluded from the counselling process.

6. Upward or Move to Next Round

This option is shown when the candidate has been allotted no seat in the current round. Such candidates may opt for the ‘Upward’ option to seat allocation due to the upward movement. If no seat is allotted even then, the candidates will be moved to the next round.
