Due to the global pandemic COVID-19, the fingerprint biometric system for admission through Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) has been removed for the year 2020. The authorities of the DOST took the decision of removing the fingerprint system in the lieu of precautions and measures to be taken for Coronavirus.
The official notification for admission to vocational courses through DOST is expected to be released in the first week of June. Unlike every year, this year the candidates are not required to link their Aadhar card with their mobile numbers as a compulsory requirement. However, the candidates will have to fill the details of their Aadhar card in the application form for admission.
To make the process seamless, this year the students will not only be notified through SMS on the registered number but they will also be notified through the official WhatsApp number of DOST. Apart from this, the students can also search for admission notification through Facebook or Twitter account of DOST.

As stated by a senior official of DOST, in lieu of the global pandemic, there has been some major changes to the admission process through DOST. This year, the fingerprint biometric system will be removed and the students will be allowed to register for the admission without the need of linking their Aadhar card to their registered number. He also stated that the notification for DOST will be out as soon as the intermediate results are declared.
