Considering lakhs of seats are vacant in UG degree private and government colleges across the state, the State Government of Telangana has decided to hold final phase counselling for UG courses from September 7 to September 9, 2017. The Education Minister for the state further quashed the proposals for holding spot round admission process and sliding of courses in the state colleges. Only those candidates who are registered under DOST portal i.e. the Degree Online Services Telangana will be allowed to exercise options by September 9, 2017.

According to sources, around 2,200 students who registered under DOST failed to secure admissions as they did not fill the required number of options. Hence, they will be allowed to take part in the final phase admission process by logging on to the official website. Candidates who had cancelled their admissions or did not join the college can also take part in the final phase.
The seat allotment for the final phase will be conducted on September 11, 2017. After that, students will be given a time span of two days to report to college to complete the admission formalities. While filling the web options, students will be required to choose as many colleges as possible to better their chances of admission.

Recently, around 100 students along with their parents requested the government to hold another round of admissions after which it gave a nod for the same.
