University of Calcutta Part 3 Results 2019: Girls Triumph as Pass Percentages Rise in Honours Courses

The University of Calcutta has announced its final year Part-III examination results for B.A., B.Com and B.Sc streams. The pass percentages have rised and Girls outnumber boys in success rates in BA, B.Sc. Boys faced a tough fight in B.Com

University of Calcutta Part 3 Results 2019: Girls Triumph as Pass Percentages Rise in Honours Courses

Yesterday at 3:30 pm, the University of Calcutta (CU) has released its final year (Part 3) results for Undergraduate courses of B.A., B.Sc and B.Com degrees under 1+1+1 scheme of the courses. This year, the rise in the pass percentage has been noticed from the Honors courses of the University. Calcutta University has also reported a rise in the number of ‘First Class’ rank holders. The total number of First Class rank acquirers from the university in the honours courses is 5,359 which is 962 points higher than the number of First Class Rank acquirers in 2018 which was 4,397.

The total number of candidates who appeared for B.A. Honours/Major Part 3 examination this year from the varsity is 15,114. From the pool, 716 people got the First Class rank and the pass percentage is reported 75.70%.

In B.Sc (Honours/Major) courses, the total number of Part 3 examination candidates were 8,689 and from which, 2,699 students reportedly passed with a first class.

17,791 students appeared from the B.Com (Honours) stream in which, the number of First Class holders is, 1,944.

Calcutta University Gender Wise Pass Statistics 2019: BA, B.Sc, B.Com

The female students outnumbered the boys in B.A. (Hons/Major) and B.Sc (Hons). The number of girl candidates at Calcutta University 2019 Part 3 examinations was much higher than the number of boys. Girls have also outnumbered boys in the run to get the first class status.

In B.A., the total number of male students was 3,192 where the number of female students was 11,922. The first class holders in B.A. stream included 592 female students and 124 male students.

Girls have also outnumbered boys in B.Sc in a large margin. The number of Part 3 examination female candidates was 5,309 where the male candidates were 3,382. Among the First Class Rank holders, 1,740 are girls and 959 are boys.

The Co-Vice Chancellor of the Unversity, Mr. Asish Chaterjee has said the boys are more inclined towards the professional courses, which is one of the reasons in the decline in the number of male candidates in BA and B.Sc streams.

However, a different picture has been seen in the B.Com Honours Part 3 examination statistics of Calcutta Univerisity. In that stream, the number of boy candidates is, 10,872 and the girl candidates are total 6,919 in number from which, 990 male students got the first class but in a very small margin, 958 female students passed with the First Class Distinction.

How to Check Calcutta University Part 3 Results 2019: BA, B.Sc, B.Com

The result of the Part 3 BA, B.Com and B.Sc degree of Calcutta University has been released in the official website of West Bengal Results which is www.wbresults.nic.in. The student has to visit the site first.

If the student was a candidate of B.A. or B.Sc Part 3 examinations, he/she has to click on the link published as, ‘B.A./B.Sc. Part-III (Hons./Major) Examination 2019 (under 1+1+1 System)’ and input the roll number issued by the university and click on ‘Submit.’

For B.Com students, the link is published as ‘B.Com. Part-III (Hons.) Examination, 2019 (under 1+1+1 System.)’ and follow the same procedure.
