University of Hyderabad to Host Career Expo for Students with Disabilities

The University of Hyderabad will be organising a career expo for students with disabilities on April 15 and 16. It is an effort by the University to secure career opportunities for the differently abled-students. 

University of Hyderabad to Host Career Expo for Students with Disabilities

The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and Youth4Jobs will be organizing Career Expo 2019, for differently abled students. It is the first of its kind expo in Hyderabad and the third version of this event in India, especially for people with disabilities. This event will take place from April 15-16 at the Zakir Hussain Lecture Hall Complex in the University.

Getting career opportunities for the students who pass out from the universities is something that all universities do but the University of Hyderabad has gone ahead and is looking at getting opportunities for differently-abled students who have to face many obstacles to find the right kind of opportunity in the job market.

As per a press release from the university, about 90 percent of the differently abled students who pass out of UoH every year are recruited into Group A and Group B positions in various departments. The University is making efforts to persuade the corporates to give an opportunity to these students with disabilities.

200 differently-abled youth and management teams from 30 major corporates in India in addition to the observers and resource persons will be taking part in this event.

The university’s campus is located near Gachibowli, the IT hub of Hyderabad. The University has 46 different departments and centres in 12 schools of study and over 400 faculty, and more than 5000 students.
