UP Board Exams 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Board has observed that there have been no updates in essential institutional and staff data by thousands of schools that come under the Board, in spite of repeated instructions from the Board. The omission has created panic about the readiness for the Uttar Pradesh Board Exams 2026, with millions of students from all parts of the state.
As per official statistics, almost 89% of schools have not renewed information about their faculty, and 77% of school profiles remained unfresh. Approximately 87% of schools did not validate their geo-location, and 95% did not upload data about their non-teaching staff. Most schools also avoided uploading recent pictures of their campus frontage—a key requirement to authenticate location and institution authenticity.
The UP Board had given a circular on September 13, 2025, to all schools to fill their data online by the end of the month. On October 3, the DIOS was directed in a follow-up order to personally monitor the date and set October 15 as the deadline. Reports, however, indicate that after the extension, most of the institutes continue to remain non-compliant.
Board authorities have cautioned that schools that fail to meet the deadline could be subject to stern action, including withdrawal of recognition and cancellation of exam center status. Furthermore, schools with nil student enrollment or antiquated records could also be delisted from the active database for the sake of bringing in transparency.
Non-availability of correct digital data also dilutes the board's drive for modernization and school administration transparency. Authorities chiefly attribute delays to lack of digital infrastructure, inadequate training and poor rural connectivity for poor net connectivity. Some school authorities also pointed out problems in using the online portal, as well as uploading geo-tagged data. In spite of these issues, the UP Board is determined to simplify the system. It also offered correction windows and helpline assistance to ensure that schools meet the requirements.
