Will MHT CET 2024 be Postponed due to Lok Sabha Elections?

Will MHT CET 2024 be Postponed? The Election Commission of India on March 16 declared the schedule for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. In Maharashtra, the LS elections will be conducted in five phases, of which Phase 1: April 19 and Phase 2: April 26 clash with MHT CET 2024 exam date. As the examination centres have to remain closed on the polling dates, many students are wondering if MHT CET 2024 will be postponed or not.

Rather than the postponement of the entire examination, it is more likely that CET Cell will give two break days for the respective polling days. Currently, MHT CET PCB 2024 is scheduled from April 16 to 23, but adhering to the Lok Sabha election schedule, no examination will be conducted on April 19, 2024. The PCB exam may hence conclude on April 24 instead of April 23.

Similarly, MHT CET PCM 2024 exam is scheduled from April 25 to 30 while Phase 2 elections fall on April 26. Either the CET Cell may postpone the exam directly to commence on April 27 or give a gap day on April 26. The last date of the exam thus may be postponed to either May 1 or May 2. It is also to be noted that the postponement schedule also depends on the schedule of other entrance examinations so that a clash between two exams does not occur.

While considering the expected dates, do note that the CET Cell has not yet released the day-wise exam schedule. Only once the day-wise schedule is released, the postponement changes in MHT CET 2024 exam dates will be conveyed. The CET Cell is unlikely to notify any changes before. However, it is certain that no examination will be held on April 19 and April 26.
