Youngsters Should Fight for Democracy: Vishvajeet Kumar

Kolhapur :

All India Students Federation (AISF) general secretary Vishvajeet Kumar on Sunday urged youngsters to come forward and ensure democracy is not in danger. Kumar made the comment on the backdrop of the recent political situation in India. He was in Kolhapur to attend a congregation of students' organizations from Kolhapur which was held to discuss issues such as the Constitution and democracy.

Kumar Said, "It is the responsibility of the youth to come out and speak against any kind of violation of basic rights of human beings enshrined to all Indians by the Constitution at the gathering. Citing the murders of Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar and M M Kalburgi. "Though these leaders were killed, their ideology cannot be suppressed. The drive initiated by these leaders regarding the need to bring change in the society and fight against the anti-democratic forces will continue relentlessly. Their thoughts will inspire youngsters to take the movement ahead."

Kumar added that the RSS is planning to attack youngsters and ideologues that are against right-wing organizations. "Rohit Vemula and Kanhaiya Kumar are victims of this ideology. The RSS and BJP want their monopoly in the country and are using power against any opposition. They are targeting students from left-wing organizations and framing them under false charges. They are good at hiding facts. Kanhaiya was arrested on false charges. The government is targeting educations institutes one by one starting from FTII, IIT-Madras, Hyderabad University and JNU," he said.

The youth organizations including the All India Students Federation, Vidrohi Vidyarthi Sanghatana, Democratic Youth Federation of India, All India Youth Federation, United Stand and other organizations were part of the congregation. and held discussions on topics like 'Save Democracy, Save Constitution'
