AMU to Increase BA LLB & LLM Seats
- The AMU department of law will offer admissions to 120 candidates in the BA LLB programme & the LLM programme will now have an intake of 35 students.
- The changes will be effective from the 2018-19 academic session itself
Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) has decided to increase theintake of studentsin the BA LLB andLLMprogrammes at the university’s Department of Law. Tariq Mansoor,AMU Vice Chancellorapproved the recommendations made by the Department’s Board of Studies regarding increasing the number of seats from the 2018-19 academic session.
TheAMUdepartment of law will offer admissions to 120 candidates in theBA LLB programmewhereas till last year the number of intakes was only limited to 100 students. TheLLM programmewill now have an intake of 35 students. Earlier, it was limited to 25 seats and there is a change in the entrance test pattern as well for the same. The entrance exam will consist of 50% subjective and 50% objective questions.

AMU has sent a memo to Dean, Chairman,Faculty of Lawamong other stating that the increase in the intake of students will be effective from the 2018-19 academic session itself and the changes will be incorporated in the Guide to Admissions 2018-19.

Aligarh Muslim Universitywas established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in 1877 and is regarded as one of the residential educational institution established by the government of India. The university offers a wide range of bachelors, master, diploma, M.Phil, and Ph.D. programmes in various fields. Apart from education, the varsity is well-known for their sports club and is the only one with Horse Riding Club.
