CBSE Board Exams to Commence from March 9; Last Exam on April 10
The CBSE Board has announced that the class 10 and 12 exams will start from March 9, 2017. The exams have been postponed by a week due to the upcoming assembly elections in five states.

The date of first exam of class 10 as well as class 12 has been set as March 9. Last exam for class 10 will be conducted on April 10, whereas the class 12 board exams will end on April 29.

As per the official statement of the board, the decision of postponing the exams by a week has been taken after analyzing the situation properly. It further added that the exam dates have been pushed back so that the students can get enough preparation time and to ensure that the sequence of exams is not interrupted.
The schedule for the assembly elections in five states have been announced. The election procedure is expected to continue till the first week of March. Elections will be conducted in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Goa.
It is expected that over 16.67 lakh students will be appearing for class 10 CBSE exams in 2017. Whereas the number of students appearing for class 12 board exams is more than 10.98 lakh. The board has provided enough preparation gap between the major subjects.

The board also said that steps have been taken so that students appearing for JEE Mains and NEET UG get enough time to prepare.
