CM Khattar: Haryana to Set up University Named After Guru Gobind Singh

Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana made an announcement on Sunday, 30th April 2017 regarding establishing a university in the northern part of the state which would be given named after Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. Also, a Sikh museum, an art school and great memorial will be set up at Lohgarh, Yamunanagar district as a souvenir for the Sikh warrior, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.

These announcements were made at a function which was organised to mark the 350th Prakashotsav of Guru Gobind Singh. Paying tributes to Guru Gobind Singh, Khattar also announced to open three new passport offices at Hisar, Karnal and Faridabad, and thus work towards increasing the total number of such offices in the Haryana state to five.

He also informed about the various functions to be organised at the state as well as district level by the Sikh community and other organisations to mark the Prakashotsav. He added that the series of programmes will conclude with a state-level function which is to be held on 17th September 2017 in Sirsa district.

Earlier, addressing the grievances of people at 'Janta Darbar', the CM warned that encroachments on public spaces will not be tolerated and also ordered to take action against the encroachers, irrespective of their status.

Later, addressing the representatives, party workers and members of party's vigilance committees at the assembly, he asked party workers to spread awareness among the audience about the current government schemes and programmes.
