DU Admissions 2018: 90% UG Applicants from CBSE Board

According to the data received from the DU Admissions Committee, 90% of the candidates who have applied for the undergraduate programmes in the Delhi University for the 2018-19 academic session are from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) followed by Uttar Pradesh state board and then Haryana state board.

Around 2,78,574 aspirants have applied for undergraduate courses in Delhi University this year. Out of these, as many as 2,49,694 applications are from the CBSE Board students followed by Uttar Pradesh and Haryana boards with 22,266 and 10,858 candidates respectively.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is next in the row with 9,681 students applying for admissions in Delhi University from the ISE board. Also, more than 3,000 students from the National Institute of Open Schooling have registered for Delhi University admissions.

The Delhi University admission process will kickstart after the release of the first cut-off list on 19th June. Most of the renowned Delhi University colleges offer admission to the top rankers after the release of the first cut off list. The university will release five cut off/merit list this academic year. However, the number may increase depending on the availability of seats.

Also, admission to nine programmes offered by Delhi University is on the basis Joint Admission Test which is conducted by the university itself. The application for the same has already been concluded. The JAT test will be conducted on 22nd June and the admission will be on the basis of JAT score.
