GATE 2023 Two Paper Combinations: Know Which Primary & Second Paper Combination is Allowed

IIT Kanpur has released the two paper combination details for GATE 2023, and the candidates are eligible to choose any two papers subject to the eligibility criteria. Here is the list of two paper combinations that candidates can choose in the GATE 2023 exam.

GATE 2023 Application Forms will be released on August 30, 2022. Candidates may appear for a maximum of two papers for GATE 2023. There are a total of 29 papers to choose from. Candidates must choose one paper as primary and one paper as secondary. GATE 2023 will be conducted by IIT Kanpur for a total of 100 marks for each paper. Listed below are the details of which two paper combinations are allowed for GATE 2023. The candidates must note that the secondary paper combination is defined basis the primary paper chosen by candidate while filling the application form.

Further, here are some essentials details that candidates should be aware of while filling out the GATE 2023 application forms: 

  • Candidates must choose their first preference in the primary subject and second preference in the second paper. In case the combination is cancelled by the authorities, then candidates will be able to appear for their first choice. 
  • The conducting body holds the right to cancel any combination of subjects if required or see fit without any prior notice. And the application fee for the second paper will be refunded through the same payment gateway. 
  • Candidates are allowed to choose only a maximum of two papers. However, it is possible that the exam centers for both papers may be in different exam centers, but in the same city. The distribution of examination seats will be according to the seat capacity of the exam center. 
  • The exams are scheduled for February 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th, 2023. The exams will be held in multiple shifts each day. Each paper will be for 3 hours. So, candidates must choose their preferences wisely and carefully and prepare for it accordingly.
