IIT JEE Main 2018 Difficulty Level to be Same as Last Year: CBSE
- CBSE has announced that there will be no change in the difficulty level of the JEE Main 2018 exam.
- JEE Main 2018 exam pattern and difficulty level will be same as in the previous year exam conducted by CBSE.
CBSE, the conducting body ofJEE Mains 2018, has announced that there will be no changes in the difficulty level of the exam. The board also said that theJEE Main 2018 examwill be on similar to the exams conducted in the last few years.
According to a statement released by the CBSE, the completeJEE Main syllabusof chemistry, physics and mathematics will be covered in the questions that will be asked in the exam. Subject experts who constructedJEE Main exam patternin the past have been appointed to structure of the exam by dividing the syllabus into units. An equal number of questions will be picked from each unit, the statement added.
The statement also added that every set of question paper will comprise an equal distribution of easy, medium and difficult questions. This practice will be followed in order to ensure that thedifficulty levelof the exam will be same as theJEE examconducted in the past few years.

CBSE will compose different sets of question papers for different shifts of the exam in order to prevent cheating and malpractices. Registration for theJEE Main examhas dropped for the fifth consecutive year. Close to 1.14 million candidates applied for the exam in 2018, i.e., 51,000 less as compared to registrations in 2017.
CBSE has also announced the rules for JEE Main on theofficial websiteinforming the candidates that they will not be able to enter the exam hall for Paper 1 after 9:30 am and for Paper 2 after 2:30 pm.Revised rules for JEE Advanced have also been announcedand exam will be on lines ofGATE.

JEE Main pen-paper based examand will be conducted across 112 cities in India as well as abroad on April 8. On the other hand,JEE Main computer-based examwill be across 258 cities in India on April 15 and 16, 2018. Students will be able to access their admit cards through the official portal of the exam.
