Thegovernment of Odishais planning to introduce significant reforms in higher education from the upcoming academic session. The state government is expected to revise the syllabi ofUG coursesand is planning to launch uniform syllabus in all state-run universities. If everything materialises as per the plan, the new syllabus will be launched from the next academic session. A model syllabus has been designed as the implementation of the uniform syllabus in all universities might be impossible at the moment.

Apart from the change in syllabus, the government will also bring major changes in the examination and evaluation patterns. The government felt that reforms in examination system are mandatory to ensure on-time graduation of students. On the other hand, theCommon Entrance Test (CET)for PG courses in universities will be implemented from the academic session 2020-21.
