JNTU-Hyderabadhas released its affiliation procedures and regulations for the academic session 2019-20. As per the latest guidelines of JNTU-H, the biometric system must be implemented in all private engineering colleges across the state.

Last year, JNTU-H tried to make colleges implementbiometric attendance systems. However, these colleges failed to do the same due to the lack of financial resources. In order to implement biometric attendance system in private engineering colleges from the academic session 2019-20, JNTU-H has informed the colleges almost five months in advance.

At present, biometric attendance is being followed for postgraduate engineering courses. On the other hand, biometric is compulsory for the faculty of private engineering colleges. From the upcoming academic session, the biometric attendance shall be extended to UG courses. Colleges seeking JNTU-H affiliation this year must install the biometric system to comply with JNTU-H affiliation procedures and regulations.

JNTU-H informed the private engineering colleges to install a sufficient number of biometric machines for recording attendance of staff and students (both UG & PG courses). It is the responsibility of colleges to make sure that the biometric attendance system works properly throughout the year. The colleges must link their biometric machines toJNTU-H BAS (Biometric Attendance System) server. The varsity considers only the attendance recorded on BAS server into consideration.

This year, JNTU-H has decided not to grant affiliation to courses that have less than 25% enrolment in the last three years. Colleges, which lose affiliation for some of its courses due to the poor enrolment, must submit an undertaking stating that teaching facility shall be provided to the existing students of these courses.
