Registration Process for DU Entrance Based Courses to Start this Week

After a long delay, Delhi University (DU) might finally start the registration process for its entrance exam-based courses this week. An official from the University’s Admission Committee informed that DU is likely to start the application process for entrance based courses from June 14 or June 15, 2017.

This year, DU will be conducting entrance exams for 9 of its undergraduate programmes. Up to 1600 seats in the Delhi University will be filled on the basis of the score obtained by the candidates in DU undergraduate entrance exam.

Prior to this academic session, DU JAT was conducted only for three courses i.e. BBA, BMS, and BBE. However, in 2017, following are the courses that will be filled on the basis entrance exams:

• B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations)
• Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
• B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics
• BBA in Financial Investment Analysis
• B.A. (Hons.) Humanities and Social Sciences
• B.Sc. in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports (P.E., H.E. & S.)
• Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
• B.A. (Hons.) Multimedia and Mass Communication
• B.A. (Hons.) Music

Initially, DU had announced that the admission procedure for entrance based programmes will begin from May 31.

The university has been facing technical glitches due to which the application schedule of various processes has been pushed back. Another reason behind the delay was the time taken in deciding whether or not to conduct entrance exams in online mode.

DU has already started the registration process for Post Graduate, MPhil, and Ph.D. programmes from June 12, 2017. Whereas, the application process for DU merit-based programmes has closed. The first cut-off list will be announced on June 20.
