SC to Hear Plea Seeking CBI Probe into CBSE Paper Leak
- Supreme Court will hear a fresh plea seeking a CBI probe into CBSE paper leak next week.
- The petition was filed by a social activist, Mr. Sanjoy Sachdev.
TheSupreme Court of Indiahas decided to hear a fresh plea seeking aCBI probeintoCBSE paper leak issueand re-examination. The apex court will take up the plea for hearing next week, Chief Justice Dipak Mishra confirmed.
The plea to seek CBI probe was filed by a social activist, Mr. Sanjoy Sachdev. The petitioner sought the court to direct CBSE to strike down the order to conduct the re-exam for Class 12 Economics. However, CBSE has successfully conducted Class 12 Economics re-exam on April 25, 2018, andthe Economics paper was easier than earlier.

The petitioner further requested the court to order an enquiry by the CBI in all the cases of paper leak across various states in the country. The petitioner mentioned that there might be the involvement of some of the board officials in the paper leak. Therefore, a CBI enquiry will figure out the real acts. In order to cover up the mistake and save the real culprits, CBSE has conducted re-examination, the petitioner alleged.

Even though petitioner alleged the involvement ofCBSE officialsin the paper leak, there aren’t any valid pieces of evidence to prove the allegations. There is no clarity whether the apex court will orders CBI probe or not.
Even though CBSE conducted re-exam for Class 12 Economics,the board rolled back the decision to hold re-exam for Class 10 maths. Theboard also gave reasons for not conducting re-exam for Class 10 maths.
