Students of IIT Bombay Awarded at ‘Transform Maharashtra’ Campaign
- ‘Transform Maharashtra’ is a campaign initiated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the objective of which is the government is to engage the youth in the development process of the state.
- ‘Jai Kisan: Drought Free Maharashtra’ and ‘Clean Slate: Swachh Maharashtra are the themes on which IIT Bombay students worked and bagged first and second prize respectively.
- So far, 15,000 students took part in the campaign making it a huge success.
A team of students fromIndian Institute of Technology, Bombayreceived an awarded for their socio-economic challenges for ‘Transform Maharashtra’ campaign. Students of IIT Bombay bagged first and second prize in the campaign. ‘Jai Kisan: Drought Free Maharashtra’ is the theme that bagged the first prize and ‘Clean Slate: Swachh Maharashtra’ is the theme that bagged the second prize.

‘Transform Maharashtra’ is a campaign initiated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. David Fadnavis. The objective of the state government is to engage youth in the governance and prepare a roadmap for the development of Maharashtra by 2025.
Students from various institutes across the state took part in the ‘Transform Maharashtra’ campaign and came up with different solutions and themes. The state government notified 11 socio-economic challenges and directed the contestants to figure out solutions to these problems.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra launched ‘Transform Maharashtra’ campaign in December 2016 at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. So far, 15,000 students have taken part in the campaign making it a huge success. The campaign received around 2,500 submissions.
Students fromIndian Institute of Management, Nagpuralso took part in the campaign and submitted their solutions.
The inclusion of youth in the governance process is an excellent initiative launched by the state government of Maharashtra. Youth will come up with new and innovative ideas that will help to figure out various socio-economic challenges.
