University of Mumbai Gears Up to Meet NAAC Accreditation Deadline

The University of Mumbai failed to get featured in the list of top 150 universities under the National Institute of Research Framework (NIRF). However, the university is now concentrating to meet the deadline for the accreditation of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council- NAAC.

The guidelines for NAAC accreditation have come out and the application window for the same will open in the month of May. Therefore the varsity is in the process of collecting data for all the departments and institutes affiliated with it so that they can submit all the documents and application on time. As per the university official, they lost on the NIRF ranking as they did not have the required data with them regarding placements, research work from the departments which resulted in the delay. This is the main reason due to which they lost their ranking.

As per the reports, Mumbai University lost its 'A' ranking after the university officials failed to apply for the re-accreditation before 31 March. University officials have been blaming the various departments who failed to provide them with necessary data on time. However, there are chances that the varsity may lose points as the delay in results has caused anger and opposition at the students end. The result for the winter semester is still due and has not been released yet by the varsity which resulted in opposition from the students.
