Rajasthan Govt. Ask Institutes to Add Extra-Curricular Activities
The Government of Rajasthan is worried about the rising number of suicides among students of coaching institutes in Kota that is why the government has asked the coaching institutes to add recreational activities in their curriculum and to provide psychological counseling to its students to help them deal with stress better.
The district collector of Kota has been directed to formulate guidelines in this matter.
"Every student cannot be an engineer or a doctor and the parents need to understand this and they should think before putting the burden of their dreams and aspirations on their kids which drive them to depression," says government official.
The number of suicides is increasing in Kota According to data released by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) recently, Kota has registered 100 suicide cases in 2014 and 45 of them were coaching institute students. The report says that the stress of studies and failure in the examination are the key causes of suicide. With this increasing number, the government has decided to put a stop and make this number zero and has asked the coaching in the city to add kind of activities that will help the student study stress-free.
