International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai invites applications for admission to 2 years full time Master of Arts (M.A)/ Master of Science (M.Sc) in Population Studies, 2 years M.Sc in Bio-Statistics & Demography, 1 year Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Population Studies and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population Studies for the commencing session 2016.
Eligibility Criteria-
For M.A/M.Sc in Population Studies:
Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in social sciences including the subject of Mathematics/Statistics from a recognized university with at least 55% of aggregate marks or equivalent grade.
The upper age limit is 25 years as on 30.6.2016.
For M.Sc in Bio-Statistics and Epidemiology:
Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 55% of aggregate marks or equivalent grade with Mathematics or Statistics as core subject or other subject with atleast two full papers on Mathematics or Statistics.
The upper age limit is 25 years as on 30.6.2016.
How to Apply-
The completed application form along with necessary enclosures and a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 500/- (exempted for SC/ST and PH candidates) by demand draft, drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of the Director, IIPS, Mumbai should be sent to Assistant Registrar (academic).The processing fee may also be paid by cash at the cash counter and the cash receipt should be attached along with the completed application set.
Application form and information can also be obtained from the Assistant Registrar (Academic), International Institute for Population Sciences, Deonar, Mumbai- 400 088 in person or by sending a self addressed Rs 50/- stamped envelope (25cm x 12cm).
Selection Procedure-
Selection is based on the performance in common entrance test and personal interview.
Fellowships-
Ph.D Program: Each eligible candidate with NET qualification for lectureship only either in Population Studies or its interdisciplinary subjects will be awarded the Government of India fellowship at Rs 16,000/- per month for first and second years and Rs 18,000/- per month for the third year respectively. Each fellowship carries a contingency grant of Rs 10,000/- for the first two years and Rs 20,500/- for the third year.
For other Programs: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Government of India fellowship Rs 5,000/- per month.

For M.Phil and Ph.D Programs: Friday, July 08, 2016 and Saturday, July 09, 2016.
