AICTE to take disciplinary action against engineering institutes if found sharing faculty. The AICTE has issued a warning to all approved institutions regarding the same.

AICTE Regulation for Sharing Faculty

All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) which is the technical education regulatory body of the Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD) has issued a notification to the Engineering institutes of India warning them about disciplinary actions if found guilty in ‘Faculty Sharing.’

The AICTE in the notice issued to all technical education institutions under its approval said that this is a breach of the conditions of approval of the institute, moreover, it hampers the quality of education as well.

AICTE issued a letter to the heads of the technical institutes. In the letter, it has made clear that some institutes are notices running courses post the grant of Extension of Approval (EoA) from AICTE. The institutes are also indulging in Faculty Sharing from institutes under the same parent body or from outside.

The letter added that the faculty sharing between two locations are not permitted from AICTE as it affects the quality of education and institutional practices. This is seen as a breach of the affidavit submitted for EoA to AICTE.
