AIIMS Bengal Provides Accommodation for Students to its First MBBS Batch

The first batch at the Bengal campus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be provided with accommodation with all the necessary infrastructure and facilities that they might need. However, the classes will be conducted on the campus of Kalyani Medical College this year.

The first batch of 50 students will be provided with accommodation on the campus of AIIMS Kalyani as the necessary provisions for a comfortable stay at the campus has been made. The statement was released by the Deputy Director of AIIMS Kalyani.

According to the sources, the provisions have been made for the first batch of 50 students in terms of their accommodation. The construction of AIIMS Kalyani has been underway and many of the necessary infrastructures have already been installed for the accommodation of the students. Sources stated that the students will also be presented with all the fundamental facilities that the students will require during their stay at the college.

The senior administration official also stated that the counselling process for the admission of the student to their programme has been expected to be completed this week itself. Meanwhile, the classes will begin around mid-August, he further added.

In another statement made the official, he stated that the classes will currently be conducted on the campus of Kalyani Medical College. This is due to the lack of proper facilities and infrastructure available for academic purposes. These infrastructure and facilities will be added and the college will be completely functional from the year 2020, the senior official stated.

The official continued to state that even though the students will be studying at the campus of Kalyani Medical College, the curriculum and the syllabus that will be taught to the students will be of AIIMS. He also added that among the subjects and topics that will be offered to the students for the first year will include Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Family as well as Community Medicine. The hospital, he added, has been planning to begin their OPD services as well, however, the services will be limited and have been predicted to commence in the month of November and December this year.
