Irmim Shamim is the first Gujjar Woman hailing from the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir to crack the MBBS entrance exam of All India Institute of Medical Sciences which was conducted in June.
Irmim Shamim had to walk 10 kilometres every day to go to school as there was no school near her village, i.e., Dhanore village. As she belongs from a backward community, she had to face many financial difficulties, but she remained positive and determined. Irmim Shamim said that there are problems in everyone's life but if one continues to fight the challenges then they will surely achieve success.
Liaqat Choudhary, Shamim’s uncle speaking to ANI said that they want her to become a successful doctor so that she can serve the people of that region. He also added that the females of Jammu and Kashmir have shown their talent in national and international levels.
Aijaz Asad, District Development Commissioner appreciated Irmim Shamim for clearing the MBBS AIIMS entrance exam 2019. He also assured a helping hand in case any problems related to her studies arise.
