AIIMS Delhi Main Building and Lawn

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, popularly known as AIIMS, is a group of autonomous public medical collegesin India that strives to impart top-quality medical education to the numerous aspirants from all over the country.

AIIMS colleges in India are regarded as the primary and the best medical institutes in the country and are a dream of every medical aspirant. AIIMS colleges have been bestowed the tag of the ‘Institutes of National Importance’ by an Act of Parliament.

At present, there are 13 AIIMS colleges in India that grant admission to MBBS courses offered by them through the NEET-UG 2021. Until 2019 AIIMS MBBS Admissions were through AIIMS MBBS Exam. However, the AIIMS MBBS exam has been scrapped now and admission to AIIMS MBBS will be on the basis of NEET AIQ Counselling.

Those students who qualified the NEET 2021 will be eligible for admissions to AIIMS Colleges in India. The NEET 2021 exam date will be released soon.

Please note that the total fees of AIIMS colleges for MBBS courses amount to Rs. 5,856 for Indian Nationals whereas USD 75,000 for Foreign Nationals (payable in three equal installments). The fee structure of other courses at AIIMS colleges differs from course to course and campus to campus.

The main agenda of the government behind setting up new branches of AIIMS colleges is to create a balanced doctor-patient ratio by the year 2021. The government is also working relentlessly towards increasing the number of MBBS seats and PG seats in these colleges in order to reduce the shortage of doctors and to improve the quality of healthcare in the country.
