Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University or AKTU has announced that it would link the Aadhaar numbers with students’ examination forms to avoid duplication. J.P. Pandey, Controller of Examinations revealed that linking examination forms with Aadhaar numbers will not only avoid examinees making registrations more than one but will also help in online verification of marks and certificates of the students.
He further added that linking Aadhaar numbers with exam forms would facilitate authenticity of data. On the other hand, Aadhaar number will also be mentioned on admit cards, certificates and marks sheets of students. The real-time attendance of the examinees will be recorded with the help of Aadhaar number linkage. An Aadhaar-enabled device will be used to track whether a student is present for the examination or not.
AKTU is the first university in the country to link exam forms with Aadhaar numbers. The varsity is also providing ‘Digital Lockers’ to help the students access their documents via the internet. The students can access the ‘Digital Lockers’ from anywhere by entering the password.
The ‘Digital Locker’ will have all the documents related to students which include mark sheet, migration and degree certificate and others. The system will come into effect from the next academic session. A user ID and password will be given to the students to access their documents.
AKTU had also initiated the digital evaluation of answer scripts for the UG semester examinations which took place in December 2016.
