Ambedkar University to Improve the Placement Process and Research Ecosystem

The Vice-Chancellor of Ambedkar University, Prof. Anu Singh Lather has recently informed that the Ambedkar University, Delhi will work rigorously to improve its placement cells and research ecosystem for providing a better industry oriented course structure and exposure to the students of the University. The decision came with the will to match the quality of Ambedkar University with the premier institutions of the country in almost all sectors.

Lather said that the research in Social Science is very different in nature and the university needs to take the research works to the scholars of these subjects at Ambedkar University, Delhi. From next year onwards, the university will start taking Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Results in consideration for admissions in the Ph.D. programmes of AUD.

The university is trying to bring foreign students on board in the near future which the university does not have currently. Prof. Anu Singh Lather says that Memorandum of Understandings or MoUs signed with foreign universities are not helpful to bring foreign students onboard in Indian Universities. She informed that the university is aiming towards inviting students from different countries worldwide to study at Ambedkar University, Delhi as it is imperative to internationalize the higher education in today’s context.

Prof. Lather says that it is not tough for Social Science students to secure placements in various sectors such as NGOs, Government, and Corporate Companies. The University will work towards identifying the potentiality of each student to secure him / her placements in eminent sectors and companies. One of the most important steps for the placement policy improvement is the activation of the alumni network who will be eventually helpful to provide placements and internship opportunities to the current batches.

The university from 2019 has launched B.Voc course in Banking and Finance with an intake capacity of 50 students in the course.
