The annual examinations of the Aligarh Muslim University will start from 12 May 2018. Tariq Mansoor, Vice- Chancellor, AMU informed the authorities that the exams are postponed due to the ongoing student protest on the campus.
The university took the decision to postpone the exams in order to improve the situation on the campus. According to the varsity, they are taking a lot of steps to bring back peace at the campus. They are addressing all the genuine demands raised by the campus due to the violence on the AMU campus on 2 May.

AMU has set up a coordination committee consisting of 16 members who are trying to understand the problems raised by the students. They have also urged the students to come forward and help in the process of normalcy.
Professor Mansoor further said that university will not delay the examination schedule anymore as it will affect the career of the students and the whole academic calendar will be affected. The university authorities are in regular talks with protesting students and district authorities so that they can chalk out a plan to address their demands and establish complete normalcy in the university.

Aligarh Muslim University is one of the prestigious institutions of the country offering higher education in the field of science, commerce, law, and humanities. The varsity has started with their admission process for various bachelor's, masters and diploma courses. The entrance exams will be conducted for admission to the respective courses at Aligarh and outside exam centres.
