Anand Agricultural University to Sign MoUs with JNKVV & University of Copenhagen
Anand Agricultural University (AAU) will sign two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. One MoU will be signed between AAU and Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV) and the other with University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
N.C. Patel, Vice-Chancellor of AAU, revealed that a MoU between AAU and JNKVV will be signed to introduce high-yield crop varieties in Gujarat. He cited that a university in Madhya Pradesh is already carrying out research work in high yielding soybean and paddy crops. The same process can be introduced in Gujarat which would ultimately benefit the farmers.
He further added that some varieties of wheat are popular in Madhya Pradesh. Around 70% of cultivation in Madhya Pradesh is of wheat and the varieties developed there are used by farmers in Gujarat as their production yield is more. He stated that the university would carry out joint research projects through this collaboration.
N.C. Patel further explained that MoU with the University of Copenhagen would facilitate student exchange, faculty exchange and collaborative research work.
