The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that Anna University is all set to offer B.Tech courses (UG engineering courses) at its three zonal campuses. The motive behind this decision of the state government is to provide access to quality technical education at minimal cost to bright students hailing from economically backward classes.
Anna University’s three zonal campuses located in Coimbatore, Madurai and Tirunelveli will offer four UG engineering courses. So far, Anna University was offering PG and UG courses in four campuses located in Chennai. Apart from these, the varsity also offers courses in 13 unitary colleges across Tamil Nadu.

With the introduction of B.Tech courses in three zonal campuses of Anna University, a total number of 60 students will get a chance to get admission in each course. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Palaniswamy made an official announcement in this regard.
Anna University has more than 571 affiliated colleges across the state. The colleges affiliated to Anna University offers a wide range of courses in engineering. Many popular engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu come under the ambit of Anna University.

Anna University conducts online admission process for UG engineering courses, i.e., TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions). The registration process for TNEA began on May 03, 2018. Interested students can visit the TNEA facilitation centres to submit the application form. May 30, 2018, is the last date to register for UG engineering courses.
