About Software Engineering

Software engineering is a branch of computer science engineering (CSE), therefore, there are very few colleges that offer software engineering bachelor degree. Most of the institutes in India provide software engineering specialization at the masters’ level.

M.Tech in software engineering is one of the most popular courses amongst computer science engineers. You can prepare for GATE exam and apply for these courses through GATE score.

Diploma Course

  • The eligibility criteria for diploma courses in this field varies from institute to institute.
  • Some institutes require students to pass class 10 in order to apply for these programmes, whereas, others require them to pass class 12.
  • Admissions are mostly done on the basis of state-level entrance exam for diploma courses.

Bachelor Degree

  • You can apply for these courses after passing class 12 with physics, mathematics and chemistry.
  • Some institutes also require you to score at least 60% in class 12 in order to take admission in these programmes.
  • JEE Mains, MHT CET score or other state level exams score are considered for admission.

Master Degree

  • To apply for this course, you will have to secure at least 60% marks in B.Tech courses.
  • Admission is done on the basis of GATE scores and Personal Interviews conducted by the institutions.

Doctoral Degree

  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in B.Tech or BE as well as in M.Tech or ME.
  • Admissions are also done through CSIR, UGC NET, ICMR, ICAR and DST INSPIRE fellowship exams.

  • In order to become a successful software engineer, you will have to develop excellent programming skills.

Hello, as per last year's cut-off trends, you can get a seat at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management (DSATM) with a COMEDK rank of 40k. The COMEDK cut-off for DSATM varies depending on the branch and category. For example, in 2022, the closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was 32309 for the general category. For Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), the closing rank was 52598.

The college provides a total of four diploma programmes: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automobile), Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production). The duration of Government Polytechnic Bareilly diploma courses is three years and they are offered in full-time mode. The eligibility criteria is Class 10 from a recognised board.
