Enhancing the duration of B.Ed course is the major reason for the declining demand. On the other hand, the government is not conducting teacher recruitment regularly. The last teacher recruitment took place in 2014.
The same situation was witnessed in 2017 where 7,010 students appeared for AP EdCET. Many B.Ed colleges recorded ‘zero’ admissions last year.
After four years, the government has initiated the teacher recruitment process. This year, AP TRT (Teacher Recruitment Test), also known as DSC, will be conducted in August. The process has started by holding AP TET 2017 in February 2018. The government will conduct another TET exam in June 2018, and the notification for the same will be issued on May 04, 2018.
