IIIT-Hyderabad and TalentSprint’s Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning executive programme has completed one year. The programme is seen as one of the most impactful and aspirational deep tech executive programmes in India.
IIIT-Hyderabad and TalentSprint’s AI/ML executive programme has completed its first anniversary. The programme had 10,000+ applicants and 1000+ graduates in 2018 and made its mark as one of the most impactful and aspirational deep tech executive programmes in the country in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
The programme which has been designed by the IIIT-H Machine Learning Lab was a hit among working professionals. It included lectures by globally renowned ML and AI faculty, case studies by industry practitioners, high-energy hackathons, hands-on-lab exercises, and ongoing mentorship. Participants had work experience for 3-25 years with an average of 7 years.
20 percent of the participants were from management ranks, 36 percent were developers and 26 percent were analysts. Industry-wise analysis revealed that 55 percent of the participants were from IT, 10 percent were from consulting, 18 percent were from the BFSI sector and the remaining ones are from service, manufacturing, and telecom. 56 percent are from larger enterprises and 44 percent are from startups.

IIIT-Hyderabad’s director Prof PJ Narayanan said on the occasion of the anniversary that they realize the shortage of talent in this field and are committed to enabling 10,000 tech professionals in the field of AI and ML, and the institute is now planning to take this programme beyond Bengaluru and Hyderabad in 2019 to these professionals. International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is founded as a not-for-profit public-private partnership in 1988. Many world-renowned centres of excellence are a part of IIIT-H’s research. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, dual degree, lateral entry, and doctoral programmes.
