Bapatla Engineering College Organized Meet on "Conservation of Water Resources"

Bapatla Engineering College, Guntur District in collaboration with Eenadu, organized a one day meet on “Conservation of Groundwater resources” on 7-April-2016. The main motive of this program was to discuss ideas and remedial measures for the conservation of water resources. The program was inaugurated by Mr.Satish, MLC, Bapatla. Delegates, officials from Andhra Pradesh attended the seminar.

Addressing the students chief guest said, “The groundwater resources are being depleted day-by-day. Extraction of ground water resources in an unbalanced manner is leading to drying up of wells and tanks across the state. There is no sustainability between the recharge of ground water and usage of groundwater resources”

MLA, Kona Raghupathi expressed “Water resources must be used in a conservative way. Due to the improper drainage system, the ground water is being polluted. There is no proper system of drainage in many parts of Andhra Pradesh. People must cooperate with the government in the conservation of ground water resources or else the future generations will face a serious problem”.

On this occasion, the students of Bapatla Engineering College formed a Human Chain at the town junction educating people regarding the conservation of water resources. Students held posters related to water pollution and the importance of water resources. Students of Little Flowers school, Bapatla also participated in the human chain.
