Babasaheb Bheem Rao Ambedkar University, Lucknow will cut a 125kg cake to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Beem Rao Ambedkar on April 14. It is for the first time that an educational institute in India will cut a cake to celebrate Ambedkar's birthday.
Local bakery experts were employed by the university officials to prepare this kind of cake that too on time. Vice Chancellor of BBAU R.C Sobti will cut the cake in presence of students, teachers and staff of the university.
Celebrations will kick start on April 14 with a Marathon run for Justice, Liberty Equality and Fraternity from the gate number three of the university. The race will be followed by the plantation programme and floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar's statue by guests, staff, teachers and students of the university.
The cake cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place at 9:30 am in the auditorium lawn of BBAU.
Vice Chancellor R C Sobti, also announced on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti that university will soon install a bronze statue of Ambedkar in the university campus. University will soon appoint a committee to formalise the detail on that, told University officials.
