With a target to publish the exam results of all courses in a timely manner, Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPTU) has decided to publish the results of all the exams within 40 days after the completion of exams. Earlier, the varsity used to declare the results of different courses in a phased manner.

However, declaring the results on time has emerged as a major challenge for BPTU. Therefore, the authorities will announce the results of all the exams simultaneously and not in a phased manner. The varsity has directed the concerned authorities to complete the evaluation process within 40 days.

Last week, Board of Management, the apex body of BPTU convened a meeting. All the higher officials of varsity attended the meeting. The major agenda of the meeting was the timely declaration of exam results. Discussions took place on the issue and the board had decided to end the practice of publishing results in a phased manner. Now, the varsity will have to announce the results of all the exams within 40 – 45 days, according to the plans of the board.

During the meeting, the board decided to print the photographs of students on the answer sheet along with their roll number. The move is to bring more transparency in the exam process and photograph on answer sheet will regulate proxy students appearing for the exams. The board further confirmed that the exam dates and schedule mentioned in the academic calendar will not be changed. All the students and teachers must strictly follow the academic calendar, the board directed.

The board will also take steps to fill up the vacant teaching posts. Faculty shortage has become a major concern for BPTU.
