Bombay High Court: LLB First Sem Exams of Mumbai University will not be Postponed

Bombay High Court has ordered not to postpone Mumbai University’s first semester LLB exams. Those who are not prepared to give first semester exams on the specified date are now allowed to attempt both first and second semester exams together. First semester LLB exams are scheduled for 29th January, 2018.

The decision was taken after hearing the appeal of Mumbai University’s first year LLB students. The filed plea was to postpone first year exams, as students were not prepared for examination due to delay in the admission procedure from the university’s end. Students also added that first-year LLB classes started from 1st November 2017. Eventually, few students completed their admission procedures in December and few could complete in January. Due to this delayed session, students were agitated and were not interested to sit for the examination.

Bench of Justice B.P. Colabawalla and Justice B.R. Gavai, sat on 23rd January, heard the plea and considerately acted on the petition and allowed students to sit for both semester examination together on the date that will be announced later. To avail this order, LLB students of Mumbai University are asked to inform their respective colleges if they wish to sit back for this semester exam and appear for both the semesters together. They are to inform the concerned authorities before 29th January. A similar decision was taken for first-year LL.M students of Mumbai University on 23rd January.
