As the COVID-19 pandemic has once again forced the schools to shut down, students, especially those who are preparing for their board exams, take the brunt of the situation. With no statement or notice yet from the CBSE Board, its Class 10 and 12 students face anxiety as to whether the CBSE Term 2 2022 exams will be delayed, cancelled, or conducted online or offline.
Although there are reports that CBSE Term 2 Date Sheet is likely to be released soon , the lack of a clear notice from the board has also stirred worry amongst the teachers and parents. COVID cases might be dropping in some states but it still is a problem for many, and as CBSE is a national board, it proves to be a challenge of greater magnitude than what the state boards face. This might be the reason why teachers are worried if the CBSE Term 2 Exam will be conducted online or offline.
This might be a mere worry for parents and teachers but it is a challenge for the students. The preparation of exams and management of time is essentially different for online and offline modes. While the students are familiar with the offline mode of conduction, online exams might create problems regarding the paper pattern, uploading of descriptive answers, time management, etc. And if pre-board exams are to take place online and board exams offline, it is sure to affect the performance of the student and its vice-versa also holds equal truth. Teachers say that both, boards and pre-boards, should follow the same mode.

CBSE Term 1 Exam was conducted offline whose results are still awaited (check reasons and tentative date here), and as the model question papers released by CBSE for the Term 2 Exam are subjective in nature, students are constantly awaiting a clear response from the CBSE Board to mentally prepare themselves for the mode they are to give exam in. No announcement about the pre-board dates or its mode of conduction also adds to the students’ worry. Most teachers and parents say that the board exams should only be conducted after the pre-board exams are held.
According to Delhi's president of the All India Parents' Association, Satya Prakash, the board examinations usually don't clash with elections in the five states and in Delhi's MCD elections. So, it is likely that the Term 2 exams will adhere to offline mode and would begin around 10 March 2022 and continue until April 2022.
