CBSE class 12 pending board exams have been cancelled by SC. The CBSE class 12 result 2020 has been announced on 13th July 2020. No merit list will be released this year due to COVID-19 crisis.

CBSE Class 12 Pending Exams Cancelled

The exams were to take place from 1st July but SC has ordered MHRD to cancel the pending class 12 and 10 board exams due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The board will announce the result on the basis of students' performance in the last three results (qualifying exams) and on the basis of internal assessment.

The CBSE class 12 result 2020 has been announced on 13th July 2020 and the list of class 12 toppers 2020 will be updated soon. However, there are high chances that the board will not release the merit list/ name of toppers due to the COVID-19 crisis and the pending class 12 exams were cancelled.CBSE Post result tele-counselling 2020 schedule has also been released.

CBSE New Grading System

Since the decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 board exam has come out students are confused about the new grading system. So we decided to simplify the CBSE New Grading System which is as follows:

The new CBSE grading system will follow a combination of internal and summative assessments. CBSE Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj informed that according to the new assessment scheme, the class 12 results for the students who have completed their exams, will be declared on the basis of their performance in the exams. Students who have appeared in the examinations in more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted. Whereas, students who have appeared in the examinations in only three subjects the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations are not yet conducted.

CBSE to SC on Pending Exams

SG Mehta, informed to Supreme Court that the board has filed an affidavit and they are taking into consideration the reports submitted by the states. In effect, the board took a decision to not conduct the board exams from July 1. The apex court has approved CBSE's assessment scheme. The CBSE said it has modified its notification on assessment scheme for cancelled exams in July. The notification regarding the assessment will be uploaded on the official website of CBSE shortly.

He further informed that CBSE class 10 exams have been cancelled and class 12 board exams have been made optional.CBSE has a scheme in which marks scored by the student in the past three exams will be taken into consideration. The class 12 exams will take place as soon as the situation is conducive. Marks for the students who opt for the class 12 exams will have that marks as final.

It is the responsibility of the CBSE class 12 student to share their decision on whether to opt for the board exams at a later date or to accept the marks based on the three previous examinations scored by the student (3 previous exam = term papers + practical marks + pre-board marks). Supreme Court has directed CBSE to ensure that there is no confusion in the minds of the students and parents.

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the full schedule of class 10 and 12 pending examinations on 18th May. However, the CBSE class 12th pending exams which were to take place from July 1 is now cancelled.

CBSE will conduct the remaining Class 12th board exams from July 1 to July 15, 2020, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal informed the same.

CBSE will conduct the remaining class 12 board for Business Studies, Geography, Hindi (Core), Hindi (elective), Home Science, Sociology, Computer Science (old), Computer Science (new), Information Practice (old), Information Practice (new), Information Technology and Biotechnology.

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the nationwide lockdown has come up with a different set of concerns for class 12th students as the exams got postponed midway which has put their future aspirations on hold. One of the CBSE class 12 students informed that the major reason for the anxiety is that there is no date sheet yet. The CBSE class 12th students are eager to know the modalities of the exams and how to reach the exam center. They are also worried about what protocols to be followed as there is no clarity regarding the same.

CBSE Class 12, 10 Board Exams at First Possibility: Important Points

According to the reports, CBSE class 12 and 10 board exams at the first possibility. Some of the important points about CBSE class 12, 10 board exams can be checked below:

  • The board has decided to conduct exams for 29 subjects for class 10th and 12th. Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE's Controller of Examinations informed that there is no change in the position of conducting board exams.
  • The Board has clarified that it will provide sufficient time of 10 days to all stakeholders before starting class 10 and 12 board exams.
  • CBSE has clarified that it will not conduct exams in foreign countries.
