Lucknow University has decided Indian attire for upcoming Convocation event on January 31. Indian attire and Angvastra to be worn by students will be available in the campus today and tomorrow. It is the first time LU has given up the black robes for Indian attire.
Students will have to pay one-time fee of Rs 350 for the angvastra and Rs 450 for the kurta pajama. Attire will be available between 11 am and 3 pm at room numbers 5 and 6 next to the chief proctors office after submitting the amount at cashier's office.
After the convocation, dresses can be returned to LU same day. and till 2 pm on February 1, 2016. A one-time rent of Rs 60 on the angvastra and Rs 90 for the kurta pajama will be deducted. Not only students and teachers, but dignitaries on the dais will also wear Indian dresses at LU's annual convocation this year. Rehearsal for the convocation will be on January 30 from 11 am to 1 pm.
