Former Test cricketer Gautam Gambhir will visit Indian Institute of Management, Indore for Ranbhoomi, an annual sports fest of the institute, to be organized by students of Integrated Programme in Management from February 5 to 7.
“The word “Ranbhoomi” truly captures the essence of any competitive sport. It is about challenge, the war, the performance in the war, the rules, the ethics, the spirit and all that contributes to culminate into a healthy competition where one desires victory, in its every form,” said one of the members of the organising team.
The 3-day event will have several events including Cricket, Football, Basketball, Tennis, and Volleyball & Chess and several unusual sports events like arm wrestling, street football, gully cricket, foosball and much more. Flagship events like triathlon, power lifting and swimming etc. to name a few.
This edition will feature over 20 events and many informal events; a mega night on the concluding day; a fight for glory campaign to bring to light suffering sports persons; a footfall of over 8000 and participation from over 80 colleges; and as a major highlight, the guest of honour will be Gautam Gambhir.
“Each event promises to bring together the best talent from across the nation, and thus brings to three days of a pure, unadulterated sporting experience for its participants,” said a student.
