The University of Delhi will introduce a new degree course, i.e., BBA Entrepreneurship next year (2019). The Standing Committee on academic matters has given its approval to the proposal associated with BBA Entrepreneurship. Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities will be assigned the responsibility of running the new course. The Academic Council is yet to approve the proposal. The varsity will release the structure, curriculum and syllabus of the course after the approval from Academic Council.
If the new course gets approval, BBA Entrepreneurship course will become the first course of its kind in Delhi. Several higher learning institutes in India offer a Diploma course in Entrepreneurship while some private universities offer a degree course in the same. At present, only seven institutes across the country offer BBA Entrepreneurship course.

BBA Entrepreneurship course will enable the students to obtain skills that are necessary to start their own enterprises. On the other hand, the central government is also encouraging skill development and entrepreneurship, and the new course will be an advantage to the aspirants looking forward to starting their own business.

According to sources, Delhi University is expected to conduct an entrance exam, group discussion and personal interview to enroll eligible candidates in BBA Entrepreneurship. The entrance exam will test the reasoning and quantitative aptitude of the candidates. The course will have 158 credits and students will have to complete two internships and submit a dissertation at the end of the sixth semester.
