Delhi University Distance Learning Courses

Delhi University offers undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in distance mode. However, these courses are offered only in the Arts and Commerce streams. Courses of distance education at DU comprise Masters in Arts (M.A.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Masters in Commerce (M.Com.), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). Delhi University Distance Learning Courses Application Process

The application process for DU SOL UG and PG courses is provided below. The Delhi University distance education admission process is quite easy and students do not have to complete a lot of formalities for securing admission.

  • DU School of Opening Learning (SOL) provides all details regarding the admission procedure of distance learning courses at DU on its official website.
  • Candidates who seek admission in these courses will have to fill up the admission form provided by DU SOL and submit it along with all the required documents.
  • Candidates will also have to pay the registration fee while submitting the application for admission to DU SOL.

Delhi University Distance Learning Courses Eligibility Criteria

Students aspiring to secure admission in UG/ PG courses offered by DU SOL must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed the admission authority to secure admission. The eligibility criteria of Delhi University distance learning courses are given below.

DU Undergraduate Distance Learning Courses Eligibility Criteria

The Delhi University SOL eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses are provided below.

  • Minimum 65% average marks in 10+2 or any other equivalent qualifying exam.
  • Minimum 75% marks in core English or 65% in Functional English/elective English or any other English subject.
  • Vocational subjects will not be considered

B.Com. (Hons)

  • At least 55% marks in 10+2
    OR
  • 60% marks in 10+2 in the technical/vocational stream with commerce.

B.A. (Hons) Political Science

  • Candidates must have 50% aggregate marks in 10+2
  • Candidates must have pursued at least one language along with 3 academic subjects (vocational streams not permitted)

B.Com. and B.A. Programme

  • Minimum 40% aggregate marks in 10+2
  • Students from CBSE and NIOS can submit the score of best 5 subjects
  • Students from other boards will have to submit an aggregate score

DU Postgraduate Distance Learning Courses Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for postgraduate distance learning courses at Delhi University SOL are given below.

  • General candidates must have passed B.A. (Hons.) Hindi from DU with 65% marks
  • OBC candidates must have passed B.A. (Hons.) Hindi from DU with 58.5% marks
  • SC, ST, CW and PWD candidates will be admitted as per DU SOL rules

M.Com.

  • General candidates must have pursued B.Com with 65-70% marks
  • OBC candidates must have passed B.Com with 60-65% marks
  • SC, ST, CW and PWD candidates will have to score 58.5-60% marks in order to secure admission

M.A. Political Science

  • Candidates must have passed B.A. (Hons) Political Science from DU with at least 60% marks

M.A. History

  • Candidates must have scored at least 60% marks in B.A. (Hons) History from University of Delhi

M.A. Sanskrit

  • General candidates need to score 60% marks in B.A. (Hons.) Sanskrit course from DU in order to secure admission
  • OBC candidates must have scored 54% in B.A. (Hons.) Sanskrit from DU
  • SC, ST, CW and PWD candidates will be admitted as per DU SOL rules

Delhi University Distance Learning Courses Selection Process

The selection process of DU distance learning courses is different for the UG and PG courses offered at the university. The Delhi University SOL UG and PG selection process is explained below.

  • Undergraduate Distance Learning Courses: Admission to UG distance learning courses offered by SOL are done on the basis of the applications received from the candidates. Admissions are done directly if students meet the eligibility criteria specified by DU SOL.
  • Postgraduate Distance Learning Courses: Admission to these courses are done on the basis of entrance exam and the applications for the entrance exams will be available on the website of DU School of Open Learning for the different PG courses.
