The Magadh University (MU) Senate has approved English to be the compulsory language in the curriculums of the university. The students and teachers of have hailed the decisions.
The meeting held on Friday in Rajgir had finally approved the proposals to make English as Compulsory language from the academic session 2016-17 beginning July, 2016.
According to the university watchers, the decision to make English as a compulsory medium at degree level for all the students of Magadh University (MU) means a complete break with policy framework that was introduced by the late CM Karpoori Thakur. He was well known to dispense English at the college or school level’s education.
Hailing the decision, Professor Ghulam Samdani Principal MG College, Gaya told that the decision of making English compulsory would prove to be extremely beneficial for Magadh University (MU) students. The students, according to Mr Samdani felt that lack of English had handicapped the students at the national level exams on the account of their less familiarity with the English language.
Also, the university senate is waiting for the document for improvement in university working from the student’s side. Every proposal would be made public and would be discussed in the meetings. A special meet is going to be held on 15th April 2016.
