IIT Guwahati will be organising its 20th annual cultural festival, Alcheringa on January 28, 2016. The theme for this edition of Alcheringa is 'Gamescape'. As the name suggest, the event will be put forward in front of the audience in the form of an escape from reality, into the world of board games. It is also about physical realization of the virtual world of gaming, said Ishan Sharma, convener of Alcheringa, 2016, at a news conference here on Sunday.
Renowned sarod player Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan will perform on the opening night of the festival. The major highlights of the event this year are its four professional nights. A Guinness record will be attempted for the largest human currency symbol during the event where volunteers will form the shape of Indian rupee symbol.
