The education department of the First Year Junior College (FYJC) in Mumbai, Maharashtra has opened the admission portal again so that candidates can change their preferences according to the existing vacancies.
According to the notification released by the FYJC education department, there were around 1 lakh seats available for 1.43 lakh applicants for the third round of seat allotment. These 1.43 lakh applicants include students from minority groups and in-house quota seats in minority colleges. Out of a total number of seats, less than 50% seats are available for students belonging to General Category.

Suvarna Kharat, Deputy Secretary, said that the applicants should fill their preferences after analysing the vacancies in colleges after the second round.

Also, aspirants who did not secure a seat in the second list even after scoring high marks, it is when the parents urged the FYJC education department to allow the quota seats on merit.
The Bombay High Court has also directed the government to return all the vacant quota seats which include 50% seats each in minority, management and in-house quota to college so that they could provide admission to students at their levels.
