How Many Students Registered for UP Board Exams 2026?

Over 52 lakh students have registered for the UP Board Exams 2026, marking a drop from last year’s 54 lakh registrations. The UPMSP will release the final exam centres and date sheet in December 2025.

Over 52 Lakh Students Likely to Appear for UP Board Exams 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced the registration statistics for the upcoming UP Board High School and Intermediate Examinations 2026. As per the official data, a total of 52,30,297 candidates have registered for the exams in 2026, which is a significant drop from 54,37,174 students who had registered in 2025.

The registration figures are a testimony to the increasing digitisation of the application procedure and the stricter verification standards by the UPMSP. The officials said the decline in numbers this year is attributed to the removal of duplicate and erroneous entries, which helped in the better representation of data. The registration for both classes ended peacefully in thousands of schools across the state.

Due to the decreasing number of candidates, the number of examination centres might also be reduced this year. 500 to 1,000 students are generally seated in each centre, which indicates that there could be a reduction of approximately 200 centres. 8,140 centres in 2025, as opposed to 8,265 centres in 2024. Due to a continual decrease in student registrations, there has been a reduction in the number of centres needed to conduct the exams successfully.

UP Board has also stated that the correction window. For classes 10 and 12, it will open until October 31, 2025 , and for classes 9 and 11, it will active until November 5, 2025 . The board will finalise the exam centres shortly and is also expected to release the full UP Board 2026 exam schedule in December 2025 .
