I&B Minister Lauded NDIM's Skill Oriented MBA Program

While addressing more than 150 CEOs, Presidents, Padmashri awardees and HR heads at the 23rd Founders Day of New Delhi Institute of Management on 16th Oct at New Delhi, I&B Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore lauded NDIM for teaching MBA in Media, Marketing and Communication and advised the institute to launch programs for the public and private sectors in Media Management and Media Handling.

“Media has grown in a remarkable way. Media needs to focus on quality and public needs to discern as to what is true,” said the I&B Minister.

He also indicated Govts’ intension to gradually raise FDI in the media sector from 26% to 49%. This seems necessary to encourage free flow of information and bring more probity in this sector. He also cautioned the media to stick to truth rather than breaking news which break after a while.

The Information & Broadcasting Minister, the Ace shooter, feels that Social and Digital Media, unless handled aptly, can mar the reputation of the best of the companies. That is why a company should adequately be equipped to handle the Media and Communication.

He urged upon the industry to help develop skill based education specially Media understanding. The Minister also lauded NDIM as one of the very few MBA colleges with more than 30% of curriculum oriented towards skill development, thus helping students to develop entrepreneurial skills for fast employment opportunities.

“Qualitative journalism will be ushered in by allowing FDI in this sector by the Government of India. And hence quality of education is important, here NDIM comes into picture. Once you enter into the institution like NDIM you make yourself better through quality education and able to give back to the society. NDIM by imparting quality education is developing passion for education among students which is the inspiring force accomplishing them for the life ahead. Sports Management & Media Management are just putting knowledge into application learnt in MBA institution like NDIM,” said the minister.

Another aspect of skill development is Communication which is a continuous process that needs to be learnt always. He advised the students to learn to communicate with themselves to access their growth and excel and also prevent negative thoughts to come. NDIM’s CSR program is a very important program that develops thought of giving back to the society in the students. Giving back to the society is for one’s own self and we feel satisfied. He said Institutions like NDIM are like yoga that cleans body chakras and system.

He also emphasized the importance of team development which can be done through rapport among members and breed efficiency.

The Minister gave away the NDIM 23rd Founder’s Day awards to the key industry professionals, supporting the initiatives.
