To encourage budding entrepreneurs, Kozhikode Chapter of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode organised its first edition Start-Up Saturday. The event took place at its campus under the theme ‘Validating Your Startup Idea’.
The aim behind the meet was to bring all aspiring and successful entrepreneurs under one platform so that they can exchange their ideas and can generate more ideas for new startups.
The meet was organised under the auspices of Headstart Network Foundation that organises Startup Saturday in different parts of the country. It is one of the most popular start-up events of the country. It brings people from the section of the society under one roof to exchange their views. The institute's first Start-up Saturday was supported by its Entrepreneur's Development Centre, business incubator Venturing and Entrepreneurship (IIMK LIVE).
Keyoor Purani, Professor at IIM Kozhikode who is also the Director of IIMK Live spoke on the occasion and said that the northern part of Kerala is rapidly changing in terms of its outlook to economic activities and right now it is an apt moment to create a start-up ecosystem there. IIMK- LIVE at IIM Kozhikode took its pledge to promote entrepreneurship among the community on campus and would love to be associated with those committed to such mission.
Centre Coordinator, Kerala Start-up Mission Kozhikode, Meher Moosa said that with this event in the city, the start-up building activities have started and they have recieved a number of queries regarding that. The overwhelming responses they had received have really encouraged them. Around 300 aspiring start-up students and individuals participated in the event. It also gave them an opportunity to exchange their ideas.
